Gabriel Martinelli has insisted that he is committed to Arsenal and is prepared to spend the rest of his career at the North London club.
Gabriel Martinelli was always tipped for stardom, considering his quick adaptation to English football. Since joining Arsenal in 2018, the Brazilian forward has steadily risen in stature and has found a new lease on life under Mikel Arteta. After enduring an injury-hit time initially following the Spanish manager’s appointment, Martinelli has finally come to the fore with important performances.
After some scintillating displays in the front three, Martinelli has made the left attacking berth his own. In recent weeks, Arteta has preferred to start the Brazilian over Emile Smith Rowe, with pundits already labelling the attacker the next Thierry Henry for his direct style of play.
There are whispers of a new contract in store for Martinelli and star forward Bukayo Saka ahead of the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta is also reportedly being offered a new deal by Arsenal to prolong his stay as manager, although the club’s finishing position at the end of the season will put a rubber stamp on those stories.
Martinelli has played an influential role in a new-look Arsenal team, full of young players and immense energy. The Brazilian recently revealed that he has previously had trials at Manchester United well before he signed with the Gunners. At the Emirates, the winger looks very much at home.

In an exclusive interview with ESPN, Martinelli suggested he is prepared to commit his long term future to the North London club.
Martinelli said, “We always want more. Of course, Arsenal are a giant team. If I can, I’ll stay here my whole life . I want to conquer things, I already said, I want to stay here and win titles, with this wonderful crowd, my teammates.”
“We have a young group, we have a lot of time ahead of us, players with a lot of quality, I think we will achieve great things. Our focus (today) is the Champions League. Fighting for that top 4. A club like Arsenal has to be in the Champions League. It’s our total focus.”
Only time will tell whether Martinelli will stay put at Arsenal for the rest of his career. For now, his growing stature within the first-team squad at the Emirates does seem to have swayed the Brazilian forward to remain committed to Arsenal.
