Demba N’Diaye keen on Liverpool or Real Madrid move

Demba N’Diaye is keen on the prospect of playing for either Liverpool or Real Madrid amid interest in the defender.

Helsingborg, a club in Sweden, secured the signature of one Demba N’Diaye in January from Dunkerque in France. The player chose the pathway to go to Sweden, where he arrived on a free transfer and signed a three-year deal.

Having only played about two senior games since his arrival at Helsingborg, the defender is already attracting interest from some of the big clubs in England and Europe. Liverpool and Real Madrid get a specific mention in the chase of the 20-year-old French defender, with N’Diaye keen on such a switch if an offer materialises.

Helsingborg are aware of the interest, and so is the player, as his comments that appeared on Swedish outlet HD confirmed. N’Diaye is keen on making such a switch, which may be natural for any player should a club like Real Madrid or Liverpool come calling.

N’Diaye said, “I know there is interest, but right now I’m just concentrating on Helsingborg and doing as well as possible here. Then we’ll see what happens.”

“To come to a big club in the world. Real Madrid, Liverpool or similar. Play in the Champions League — and win the African Championships with Senegal.”

Liverpool and Real Madrid are in the market for a left-footed defender, which does make the links to N’Diaye sensible. However, this is a player with barely any experience at the top level, which does beg the question of whether the interest from those clubs is genuine.

Liverpool agreed a deal for Jeremy Jacquet, another young defender from France, although their huge outlay on the Rennes star is justified following his experience in Ligue 1. Liverpool are expected to enter the market for a left-footed centre-back, but it might be someone with immense experience to use him as a possible future successor for Virgil van Dijk.

The same could be said about Real Madrid, who might see the likes of David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger depart at the end of the season. However, they too have invested in young centre-backs recently, and may opt to bring in someone with good experience to lead their backline. Hence, there are doubts about these clubs making a dash for someone like the 20-year-old French defender N’Diaye, although there may still be interest.
