Casemiro rules out Real Madrid exit, wants to see out contract

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has ruled out the possibility of an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu and wants to see out his contract with the club.

Veteran Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has reiterated his desire to stay at the club. The Brazilian international wants to see out his contract with Los Blancos, with his current deal running until 2025.

The 30-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2013 from Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo and has since grown into one of the most important players at the club. Casemiro has formed one of the best midfield trios in the world along with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, helping the club win numerous UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles.

In all, Casemiro has represented Real Madrid on 333 matches across competitions and has also contributed 31 goals and 28 assists. While he forms an integral part of the team, widespread rumours in the ongoing transfer window linking the midfield mainstay with an exit.

The likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have been linked with a summer move, with Real Madrid said to be open to selling him for a €50 million fee. However, all such speculations have died down with time, and Casemiro has put them to rest once and for all.

The Real Madrid midfield mainstay has conceded that ‘no player is non-transferable’, but he does not see his near future away from Real Madrid, with three years remaining on his current contract.

“I have a contract with Real Madrid until 2025, we know that no player is non-transferable, but today for me it is not a reality. My thought is to stay at Real Madrid,” he told Sportv, as relayed by Defensa Central.

Real Madrid have signed French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in the ongoing summer transfer window, and the 22-year-old can be a long-term replacement for Casemiro. Los Blancos also have 19-year-old Eduardo Camavinga in their ranks.

The teenage prodigy was influential in Real Madrid’s knockout matches in their triumphant Champions League campaign last season.
