German midfielder Mesut Ozil scored his first ever professional hat-trick as the Gunners thrashed Bulgarian minnows PFC Ludogorets 6-0 in their Champions League group stage encounter.

The master of assists had already made one goal as Arsenal were 3-0 up, but then decided that he would finish things up himself this time. Ozil scored three goals in quick succession to turn a convincing victory into an absolute thrashing.

Ozil joins the esteemed company of legends (and lords) who have scored hat-tricks in the Champions League for the Gunners.

Twitter hailed the German for his majestic display, coming in the wake of intense speculation over his long term future. Gooners took this opportunity to tell the Arsenal board to sign Ozil to a long-term deal at the Emirates no matter what the cost.
