Arsene Wenger watched from the director’s box as Arsenal destroyed Southampton 5-0 to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Arsenal manager was serving the first game of his four-match ban having been penalised by the FA for his behaviour during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Burnley but will have been pleased with what he saw.
Theo Walcott picked up a rare hat-trick and Danny Welbeck – who has only just returned from injury – scored a brace as Arsenal ran riot against the Saints. Southampton were running high on confidence having just knocked Liverpool out of the EFL Cup but could do nothing as Arsenal were on song.

Whenever Walcott gives a post-match interview I picture a media training consultant at home with a glass of wine and a deeply satisfied grin

Plenty of people were happy to see Danny Welbeck on the scoresheet as well after the injury-plagued Englishman finally made a return to the side.

Welbeck is an unbelievable athlete, if he was in the Jamaica team in 2008 Usain Bolt would still have 9 gold medals.

It’s brilliant from the whole front three. But, after so long out, it’s astonishing from Welbeck.

Danny Welbeck has scored 2 goals in a game for Arsenal for the first time since October 2014.
Not bad for your first start in 265 days. pic.twitter.com/kOyeMJiZS9

He’s got a lot of game has Welbeck. Let’s hope his luck changes on the injury front.

There was plenty of talk about Arsene Wenger as well after the Arsenal manager began his four match touchline ban.

Arsenal should look into seeing if they can get Arsene Wenger’s touchline ban extended for more than 4 games! #BouldIn
