Arsenal secured a 2-0 win over Napoli, although going by their performances they should have scored more, way more than what the scoreline suggests.
Arsenal fans are happy after the team secured a 2-0 first leg win in their UEFA Europa League quarter-final against Napoli at the Emirates. They could have been happier, probably over the moon had the Gunners taken all their chances well and put the tie way beyond Napoli’s reach in the second leg. Despite that win and thanks to just restricting Arsenal to those two goals, Napoli still holds a chance going into the second leg.
Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring, and Lucas Torreira doubled it before the half-hour mark. Arsenal dominated the first half and missed several gilt-edged chances which fell to Aubameyang, Lacazette and even Ramsey throughout the game. The Gunners created 17 goalscoring opportunities and scored just two.
Twitter, as usual, reacted to some of the brilliance displayed by Arsenal as well as to those horror misses, which, again would have put the tie to bed. Let’s take a look at some of the interesting tweets we could gather from around the Twittersphere, as fans displayed their happiness as well as dismay at Arsenal’s performance.
Arsenal should have killed this long time. #EuropaLeague #ARSNAP

Keeping this clean sheet would be huge. We score 1 in Napoli and surely we’d be through… ?#ARSNAP #COYG @Arsenal

Unfortunately our defense is being manned by the geriatric pairing of @6_LKOSCIELNY and @_nachomonreal. These guys are now on their last legs. Hope they can outlast @sscnapoli #ARSNAP #UEL

Then jumping to Ramsey’s performance, the midfielder provided what a box-to-box midfielder should; a goal, tackles, creativity and defence. Twitter were not only praising him for what he did, but also ruing the glorious chances he missed. But overall, everyone was happy. And yes, Arsenal fans are still sad to see Ramsey leave at the end of the season.
Can we not use article 50 on the Ramsey deal to Juve? #ramsey #arsenal #nodeal ??♂️

Remember when some #arsenal fans call @Aaronramsey Wenger's love child? And some of those still think he can easily be replaced by spending a few quid. They are as stupid as those who took his contact off the table.

Hello @juventusfcen
Just to let you know that THIS is Aaron Ramsey. He is willing and able to make the move to Turin, as agreed in his pre-contract, on or before the 12th of May, 2019.
Sincerely,
Arsenal. pic.twitter.com/uLdRuvDT3j— Max (@bonniemaxx) April 11, 2019

How is Ramsey aloud to leave on a free ? Juventus must be the greatest team in history for getting people on a free #arsenal #ramsey

Back to Arsenal’s performance, twitter had few more praises and opinions.
#Arsenal performance was pretty good. Could've scored more goals, hopefully we won't be regreting it. Torreira and Ramsey were excellent today, not just because they scored the goals but for their overall performance.

2-0 is good but it could have been more.
Thankfully we conceded no away goals.
Onto the second leg. We got this.
