Crystal Palace exploring Pierre Sage move, Liverpool also keen but deal unlikely

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in appointing Pierre Sage as their new manager.

According to Ben Jacobs, they are considering potential replacements for Oliver Glasner and have identified the 47-year-old as a target. He has done an exceptional job at Lens, and they finished as the runners-up in the Ligue 1 title race.

Despite working with limited resources, the 47-year-old helped his team punch above their weight, and his exploits have attracted Liverpool’s attention as well. It will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace decide to make a move for him. They need a quality manager to replace Glasner.

The Austrian is one of the best managers in their history, and he has helped them win the FA Cup, the Community Shield and the UEFA Europa Conference League. Replacing him will not be easy. It remains to be seen whether they can bring in a quality manager.

The opportunity to manage in the Premier League could be exciting for Sage. It would be a step up in his career, and he would get to showcase qualities at a higher level. On the other hand, Liverpool have been mentioned as a potential destination as well. However, it seems unlikely that Liverpool will make a move for him.

They are more likely to move for Andoni Iraola.

Pierre Sage could be ideal for Palace

Crystal Palace would do well to appoint the 47-year-old Ligue 1 manager. They have quality players at their disposal, and Sage could be the perfect fit for them. He knows how to work with limited resources and maximise the options at his disposal. He could bring out the best in the Crystal Palace squad and help them compete at a higher level, as Glasner did.

Lens will not want to lose a quality manager like him, but they could be under pressure to sanction his departure. If the Premier League clubs come calling. They have the resources to pay him a lot of money, and the challenge of managing in the Premier League will be hard to turn down as well.
