Jose Mourinho happy at Fenerbahce amid Everton links

Everton have been handed a major blow in their pursuit of former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Everton have endured a poor start to the new season; they are currently 16th on the points table with just one win, and Sean Dyche’s future at the club has become a big talking point. The Merseyside club have started to look for potential replacements, and former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move to the Toffee.

But, according to a report from Football Insider, Everton target Mourinho is happy to continue at Fenerbahce despite the fact that he would be open to a potential Premier League job in the future.

The Portuguese manager took charge of the Turkish giants in the summer with the objective of getting them to the top of the Super Lig. He has had a decent start to life in the league standings, but reports have suggested the 61-year-old could make a surprise return to the Premier League.

Mourinho has had two successful spells at Chelsea, and he has also had stints at Manchester United as well as Tottenham. The Portuguese boss has a lot of experience of coaching in the English top flight and not many have the kind of record he has as a manager.

Mourinho to replace Dyche at Everton?

Sean Dyche’s Everton have had a poor start to the new season. They only have five points out of their first seven league games and if things do not improve they could be in for a relegation battle. As a result, the Toffees seem to be considering bringing in a new manager.

The Friedkin Group are working behind the scenes to complete the takeover of the club. While they are planning with Dyche as their boss, if results do not improve they could look at Mourinho who has worked with them in the past. He guided the Friedkin Group-owned AS Roma to a European title in the recent past, and they could look to bring him back to England to manage Everton.

While the 61-year-old has been linked with replacing Dyche, Mourinho is happy at Fenerbahce and is not looking to leave Turkey at this point in time. He is open to a future assignment in the Premier League but for now, his happy at the Turkish club.
