Predicted Liverpool lineup against Wolves: Alisson back in goal; Salah, Diaz out wide

Alisson Becker will finally return from his short spell on the sidelines when Liverpool take on Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

Liverpool will look to continue their impressive start when they lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday evening. And Arne Slot has greeted a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

The Reds do not have any major injury issues heading into this weekend’s game against Wolves. Harvey Elliott remains sidelight with a foot injury. However, Alisson Becker has resumed normal training, and the Brazilian is all set to start here, with Slot confirming the news during his pre-match press conference.

On Alisson, Arne Slot said, “We think he is [ready to play]. He trained yesterday a part of our session with the group, so we’re expecting him to do the whole session today. So, we think he is available but of course we have to train today.”

“And of course we’re really happy with Alisson being back but I want to emphasise the fact that Caoimhin [Kelleher] did really well in the two games he was in goal for us, so another example of me having two, and I think even three, good options in certain positions.”

Liverpool will shape up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson deployed in the full-back roles. They will look to contribute at both ends of the pitch and affect the game with their defensive and attacking qualities. Ibrahima Konate will start alongside Virgil van Dijk in the central defensive pairing.

As for the midfield unit, Ryan Gravenberch will start alongside Alexis Mac Allister in the double pivot. The two players will look to control the tempo of the game and help out defensively.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will feature as the wingers, and they will look to create goalscoring opportunities and add to their goalscoring tallies for the season. Dominik Szoboszlai will start in the attacking midfield role, and he will link the midfield with the attack and create openings in the final third. Finally, Darwin Nunez will lead the line for Liverpool against Wolves.
