Predicted Liverpool lineup against Bournemouth: Kelleher in for Alisson; Jota up front

Caoimhin Kelleher will replace the injured Alisson Becker in the Liverpool starting lineup against Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool will be hoping to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the league title, and they need to win games like the one on Saturday against Bournemouth at Anfield. They had made an impressive start to the season before the international break, but the defeat against Nottingham will have left them thoroughly disappointed. It will be interesting to see if they can produce a reaction and get the job done against the cherries.

They are coming into this game on the back of an impressive performance away from home against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League, and they are certainly good enough to grind out all three points here as well.

Liverpool are without Harvey Elliott and Alisson Becker due to injuries.

Arne Slot revealed in his pre-match press conference: “Alisson is still a doubt if he can train today, so let’s wait [to see] if he can train.

“Then, if he can’t then he will probably not play as well, so we have to wait and see.

“Apart from Harvey Elliott, [there are no other injuries].”

They are likely to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation here with Caoimhin Kelleher in goal.

Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start as the full backs here, and they will look to keep things compact defensively and create goalscoring opportunities for their teammates as well. Ibrahima Konate will start alongside Virgil van Dijk in central defence.

Ryan Gravenberch will start in the midfield pivot alongside Alexis Mac Allister, and the two players will look to keep things compact defensively and add creativity and control to the side.

Dominik Szoboszlai will look to create goal scoring opportunities in the attacking half with his passing and vision. The Hungarian will start in the number ten role here. Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will start on either side of him and the two players will look to open up the Bournemouth defence with their pace and flair. They will look to get on the score sheet as well.

Diogo Jota will lead the line for the Reds.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota
