Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake are poised to join Manchester United’s backroom staff, as Erik ten Hag nears finalizing a new deal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Rene Hake will be joining Manchester United from Go Ahead Eagles ahead of next season, with Ruud van Nistelrooy also arriving at the club soon. The duo will be a part of Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff as the Dutch manager is all set to sign a new deal at Old Trafford in the coming days.
Erik ten Hag arrived at the club back in the summer of 2022. He had an impressive debut season but things did not go according to plan for him last time out. The Red Devils struggled throughout the campaign because of an injury crisis at the back.
While he did the end season on a high by winning the FA Cup final against arch-rivals Manchester City, his future at the club was still uncertain. Manchester United had started looking for potential replacements. The new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team held a season review meeting, where they discussed the future of the former Ajax boss.
The Red Devils have decided to stick with the 54-year-old and on top of that, they are handing him a new deal. Ten Hag has already finalised the terms of his new contract. Everything is in place for him to extend his stay, and he is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days.
