Manchester United to decide on Erik ten Hag future

Manchester United are all set to make a decision regarding the future of their manager Erik ten Hag this week.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United’s board are all set to review the club’s performance under the leadership of Erik ten Hag as they look to decide the future of the Dutch manager. The Red Devils could end up sacking him and have already established contacts with representatives of potential replacements.

Erik ten Hag arrived at the Manchester-based club in the summer of 2022 after making a name for himself at Ajax. He had an exceptional debut season and a lot was expected from him and his team during the 2023/24 season.

But, unfortunately, they have failed to reach the heights they did last time out. Injuries to key players were one of the biggest reasons for their poor run and inconsistency throughout the season. But, the Red Devils ended the season in the best possible way by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag’s future will be clear soon

Despite managing to win his second trophy at United in as many seasons, the axe could soon fall on Ten Hag. Reports suggest that the new part-owners are not really fans of the Dutch manager and their teams have been working on potential replacements.

They have already held talks with the representatives of Kieran McKenna and Mauricio Pochettino to take over from the former Ajax boss. According to Romano, the final verdict on Ten Hag’s future will be out in a week.

The club’s board is all set to review his work this week as they look to decide their manager’s future. Club directors along with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are all involved in the process. Internal talks have already begun and these are crucial days ahead as we could soon have clarity on who will lead United in the next season.

If Ten Hag continues at the club, they will shift their focus towards building their squad but if he does leave, the Red Devils will go all out to secure a replacement as soon as possible.
