Andrew Robertson, Harvey Elliott, and Cody Gakpo will return when Liverpool host Brentford at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool are coming into the game against Brentford on the back of five consecutive league wins, and they will be full of confidence and momentum. Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently fifth in the league table and will hope to close the gap with the top four with a victory at home.

Liverpool will be without the services of Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsay. While Keita has resumed training following his injury layoff, the Guinea international is still working on his match fitness and is unlikely to feature here. But Thiago, Bajcetic and Ramsay have been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Club captain Jordan Henderson has recently undergone a scan regarding an injury, and his participation is yet to be determined. Diogo Jota has had limited training because of bruised ribs, and he might not start here. However, the Portuguese international should be fit enough to be on the bench.

Speaking on Jota’s injury during his pre-match press conferece, Klopp said, “Diogo has his back issue, bruised rib. He could train yesterday but he didn’t do a lot, to be honest,” Jürgen Klopp told reporters on Friday. He was not really in danger yesterday for any kind of contact or stuff like this, so we have to see there.”

Klopp also spoke about Henderson and Thiago, saying, “Hendo, we have to see. He had yesterday a scan, didn’t see the results yet. It will not be a big thing but maybe it’s enough to rule out for tomorrow – I don’t know that yet. He will have the surgery and is out for the rest of the season.”

Liverpool are likely to continue with the usual 4-3-3 formation. Alisson Becker will retain his place in goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will be deployed as the full-backs here. Alexander-Arnold has been outstanding in his last few outings and will look to continue his fine run of form and create goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.

Robertson will look to improve the recent performances after being dropped against Fulham for Kostas Tsimikas. Ibrahima Konate will start in the heart of the defence alongside Virgil van Dijk.

In the midfield three, Fabinho will be deployed in the role of a ball-winner, whereas Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott will look to add creativity and control to the side. Cody Gakpo is expected to lead the line after an underwhelming performance from Darwin Nunez in the last outing. Finally, Mohamed Salah will continue on the right with Luis Diaz on the left.
