Fulham set to intensify discussions with Marco Silva

Marco Alexandre Saraiva da Silva is a Portuguese football manager and former player who played as a right-back. He is the head coach of Premier League club Fulham.

North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up a summer move for Fulham manager Marco Silva.

Marco Silva has done an exemplary job at Craven Cottage, and Fulham are currently well-placed to secure a top-half finish this season. Silva helped the London club win the Championship last season, and their performances in the top flight have attracted a lot of praise this season.

A report from Football Insider claims that Fulham are now hoping to tie him down to a new long-term contract and are set to intensify talks with the 45-year-old. Meanwhile, Tottenham are interested in Silva.

Tottenham are searching for a quality replacement for Antonio Conte, and they will be expected to bring in a proven winner. While Silva has done an impressive job at Fulham, he could prove to be an underwhelming addition for the fans. So the interest in the Portuguese tactician is intriguing.

Silva is yet to prove himself at the highest level with a big club, and Tottenham fans will be hoping for a manager who has a track record of challenging for the major trophies and winning them.

Meanwhile, Fulham will be hoping to hold on to him for as long as possible, and they will look to secure a contractual agreement with the 45-year-old soon. Silva has a talented squad at his disposal at Fulham, and it would be surprising if he decided to abandon the project in the summer.

Spurs are currently in need of a rebuild and it would be a tricky job for the Portuguese manager. The North London giants have been linked with managers like Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino as well. While Pochettino is expected to seal a move to Chelsea, Nagelsmann could be the best option for Spurs.

The 35-year-old has the experience of managing a massive club like Bayern Munich, and his progressive approach would be the ideal fit for the current Tottenham squad. As for Silva, the 45-year-old will be hoping to build on the impressive job he has done at Fulham so far and guide the London club to a top-four finish. With the right additions, they challenge for European qualification next season.
