Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a summer swoop for Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry, who could cost around €60 million.

According to Fichajes, Serge Gnabry could be set for a return to the Premier League next season. The Bayern Munich attacker has emerged as a potential target for Newcastle United. as the cash-rich Premier League outfit look to strengthen their attacking unit in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Gnabry has played in England before, during his time at Arsenal youth ranks. However, with just 18 competitive appearances for the Gunners, the winger was never really able to make an impression in the Premier League, eventually leaving the club in favour of a move to Werder Bremen in 2016.

It turned out to be the turning point of his career, with Gnabry since becoming one of the best wingers in the Bundesliga. During his time at Bayern Munich, the attacker has made 155 competitive appearances, scoring 59 goals while mustering 38 assists. His attacking contributions were critical in helping the club win the treble in the 2019/20 campaign under Hansi Flick.

In the current season, the former Arsenal starlet has been involved in 14 league goals in 22 appearances. His form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Newcastle United targeting him in the summer transfer window.

After a busy January that witnessed NUFC bag the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier, among many others, it goes without saying that the Magpies are prepared to splash the cash once again when the season ends. This time around, the Tyneside outfit might be in a position to attract more star players, providing they can escape the wrath of relegation come May.

Newcastle United are already in contention to sign Sven Botman in the summer, despite competition from Tottenham Hotspur. Eddie Howe now appears to be keen on shoring up his options in the attacking third, with Serge Gnabry emerging as an ideal option.

Given his vast experience at the highest level of football, coupled with his winning mentality, the Bayern Munich starlet could be an ideal addition to the NUFC attack, as the club look to embark on a new era.

However, Gnabry is set to cost a fortune, with Bayern valuing him at around €60 million. It is perhaps why the Magpies are also reportedly keeping a close eye on Ousmane Dembele, who is set to become a free agent in the summer.
