Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Alvaro Morata on loan until the end of the season.

According to The Times, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United could have the opportunity to sign Spanish striker Alvaro Morata in the January transfer window. The Spaniard is currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid and could again be on the move following the blockbuster arrival of Dusan Vlahovic at the Allianz Stadium.

The 29-year-old is having a mixed second stint at Turin. While he was fairly impressive last season and produced 33 direct goal contributions from 44 games across all fronts (20 Goals 13 Assists), he has not been consistent enough and has only managed a tally of five goals in the Serie A so far this season.

With Juventus rumoured to be interested in Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Bianconeri could cut short Morata’s loan stint to free up space and funds. Despite his inconsistencies, there seems to be no shortage of suitors for the Spaniard, including from the Premier League, with Arsenal, Newcastle, and Tottenham keen on the 29-year-old’s services.

The Gunners are desperate to land a goalscorer before the January transfer window closes as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in the summer while Aubameyang has been exiled from first-team action.

After being rejected by priority target Dusan Vlahovic, they have intensified their search for a striker and have turned their attention to Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. But they may miss out on both of them since their parent clubs are unwilling to trade midway through the season. Morata could be an excellent stop-gap solution, and in the summer, Arsenal can again realign their radar towards top attacking targets.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are on the hunt for a striker to provide competition or operate alongside star striker Harry Kane. Morata has different qualities to that of the Englishman and could complement Kane very well. Morata is not a typical front-of-goal striker; he is more of a false-9 with brilliant link-up play and one-touch passing and he could help improve Spurs’ chance creation in the attacking third.

With Ajax pushing for Steven Bergwijn, Antonio Conte’s side could do worse than bringing in an experienced attacker on a short-term loan deal in Alvaro Morata. He would be a decent option to have for Conte and could push Tottenham to a top-four Premier League finish this term.

As for Newcastle, they continue their search for another striker after having already signed Chris Wood from Burnley earlier this month. Morata is a highly decorated player with plenty of top-level experience and will bring a winning attitude. He would undoubtedly add quality to the Magpies’ attack. However, with multiple elite clubs after him, he surely would not want to wind up in a relegation battle with the Magpies.

The Spanish international has also garnered serious interest from Barcelona this month, with Barça coach Xavi keen to make him a part of his revolution at Camp Nou. However, Atletico’s stance of not selling their asset to a direct top-four competitor has forced the Blaugrana to cool down their interest. With only 48 hours left in the window, where Morata will end up remains to be seen.
