Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is reportedly ready to join Juventus on a short-term loan deal in January.
According to Rudy Galetti, Juventus are inching closer towards the capture of Anthony Martial. The Bianconeri want to sign the forward on a short-term loan until the end of the season. They have already offered a proposal to Manchester United, asking the Premier League giants to pay a part of the player’s salary. The two parties are currently evaluating the possibility of the deal.
Martial, for his part, is ready to join Juventus in January and should not have any problems agreeing personal terms. It appears the Frenchman is keen on sealing an exit from Old Trafford in an attempt to revive his career during the second half of the campaign.
The former AS Monaco forward has fallen out of favour at Manchester United in the past year due to his lack of consistency. The summer arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho coupled with the rapid emergence of Mason Greenwood have not helped his cause either.
Martial has indeed featured in just over 200 minutes of league football this term. He has fallen behind Greenwood, Ronaldo, Sancho and even the underperforming Marcus Rashford in the pecking order. It has led to widespread speculations surrounding his long-term future at Old Trafford, with Barcelona and Juventus among the clubs interested in securing his services.
Juventus appear to have shown more desire to sign the Frenchman in light of Moise Kean’s struggles. Their marquee striker Alvaro Morata has not quite delivered in front of goal either, despite his recent run of form. The further speculation regarding the future of Dejan Kulusevski has now compelled them to enter the market for a new forward.
Having featured in over 250 competitive matches for Manchester United, Anthony Martial fits the bill well for Massimilano Allegri. The forward brings a wealth of experience at the highest level of football and is versatile enough to play anywhere in the final third. He can offer speed and dynamism in the Juventus frontline, which could be necessary due to the absence of Federico Chiesa.
The Italian international has been ruled out with a long-term ACL injury, further limiting the options for Allegri. Martial’s potential loan move from Manchester United, to that end, could go a long way in helping Juventus regain a bit of strength going forward as they look to push for the top four places this season.
