Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sacrifice several fringe players in the deal to sign Wolves attacker Adama Traore.

A recent report from Team Talk has offered an update on the future of Adama Traore. The Wolves attacker has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the transfer market this January, with Tottenham among the clubs interested in his services. The player himself is keen on leaving Molineux as he looks to take the next step in his career.

Various reports suggest that Wolves are hoping for a fee of around £18 million for the services of Adama. While Tottenham aren’t averse to paying the sum, it appears they are now exploring the possibility of a potential player plus cash deal.

In an attempt to lower Wolves’ valuation, Spurs have offered Bruno Lage the opportunity to sign a few of their fringe players, with the list including Joe Rodon, Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga and Jack Clarke.

Antonio Conte doesn’t rate any of the four players highly and is keen on offloading them as part of his major rebuild. The January transfer window offers him the opportunity to do so, with Tanganga, in particular, already attracting interest from Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan this month.

While Tanganga has remained a part of Conte’s plans for the time being, Rodon has clearly fallen out of favour, having failed to start a single league game under the Italian. Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in the services of the Welshman, although it seems Wolves now have the opportunity to snap him up in the January transfer window.

Bruno Lage has shown the desire to bring in a couple of new faces in January, especially in defence, where Willy Boly has fallen out of favour. Either Tanganga or Rodon, to that end, could prove to be an exciting addition to the team.

Even Sessegnon could emerge as a direct replacement for Adama, who is likely to be transformed into a right wing-back by Antonio Conte. It appears the Italian mastermind is looking to add more competition for Emerson Royal, especially with Matt Doherty being linked with a potential return to Molineux. In that respect, Tottenham have also explored the possibility of sanctioning a swap deal between Doherty and Adama in January.
