West Ham have reportedly made a fresh approach in their pursuit of Wolves attacker Adama Traore, who is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, West Ham United are prepared to compete with Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of Adama Traore. The east Londoners have made a “concrete offer” for the Wolves attacker, who has been identified as a top target for David Moyes in his bid to add new attacking reinforcements in January.

Part of Wolverhampton Wanderers since 2018, Adama Traore’s current contract at Molineux expires at the end of next season. Wolves are unlikely to have any luck in convincing the attacker to extend his contract and are expected to cash in on him for a fee of just £18 million.

Tottenham are said to be interested in meeting the Spaniard’s asking price, with Antonio Conte keen on acquiring him as a direct competitor for Emerson Royal. But it appears they are set to face stiff competition from London rivals West Ham.

As iterated earlier, David Moyes is on the hunt for attacking reinforcements. He is keen on adding a strike partner for Michail Antonio during the second half of the campaign in order to ease the attacking burden off the centre-forward.

With a tally of just ten goals in over 150 competitive appearances for Wolves, Traore has a less than impressive goalscoring record. However, Moyes believes he can extract more out of the Spanish international, as he did with Jesse Lingard almost a year ago. The Manchester United playmaker even remains a top target for West Ham in January, although there is yet to be any breakthrough.

Traore himself may fancy an exit from Molineux after a run of 21 Premier League matches without a goal. Although the attacker has continued to play a vital role for Bruno Lage’s offensive unit, the attacker feels he can extract more out of himself elsewhere, with West Ham and Tottenham seemingly emerging as potential destinations.

It appears both the London giants are prepared to meet Adama Traore’s asking fees as well, so the onus is now on the player to wisely take the next step in his career.
