Adama Traore could be open to signing for Liverpool if an offer comes by, as many sides have withdrawn their interest in recent weeks.
According to El Nacional, Adama Traore would be willing to join Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp’s side made an offer for his services. This season, the Spaniard has been attracting plenty of interest, although some of his suitors have already withdrawn from the race owing to his declining form.
Adama Traore has always been a different player who played beyond specific systems and styles. He can gel into many sides and their formations. The Spaniard is someone who could cause chaos in the opposition box and keep defenders on their toes with his relentless running, physical power and ball-carrying skills.
Some of the biggest sides in England and Spain have always appreciated his talents in the last few years. Even Spain manager Luis Enrique opted to take him along for the Euros in the summer, although he only played sporadically during the tournament.
Traore is in the middle of a contract stand-off with Wolves, who reportedly were keen on extending his deal and hence rejected some lucrative offers in the summer. However, the winger is expected to move away at some stage and could go for a lower price considering his contract expires in 2023.
Despite being a regular under new Wolves manager Bruno Lage at the start of the season, the attacker has dropped in the pecking order in recent weeks. The Portuguese tactician has found a winning formula, which doesn’t include Traore, as the Midlands club have risen to sixth on the Premier League table after early struggles.
During recent months after the Euros, Enrique has also dropped Traore from the Spain squad, opting for players who fit the system rather than a ‘freestyler’ of sorts. With his stock seeming to be declining, previously interested clubs in him are also dropping out of the race.
Traore was reportedly offered to Real Madrid, who now do not hold any interest. There were also rumours of a move to Barcelona, who also are looking to shy away from a possible transfer. It could leave only a handful of clubs who might be willing to take a punt by signing him.
Newcastle are understandably in the race as they seek to avoid relegation by spending significantly on quality, game-changing stars in the January window. One big club that have retained their interest are Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is supposedly a big fan of the Spaniard’s talents, and believes Traore could provide his team with a different option.
And now there are suggestions that Traore himself could be open to making a move if the interest is genuine. Liverpool are looking at many wide attackers with the Spaniard’s name among those reported targets. However, a move could be in jeopardy if he spends time on the sidelines rather than on the pitch.
Liverpool could be a good option for the ex-Barcelona starlet, although it remains to be seen if they want him. Wolves, as per the report, have set an asking price of €30 million, which should not be out of reach for the Reds. It now remains to be seen if Klopp & co. decide to make a move for Traore.
