Manchester United are reportedly ready to rival Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign wantaway LOSC Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
According to Transfer Market Web, Arsenal and Liverpool have been given a massive boost in their pursuit of Renato Sanches. The LOSC Lille midfielder feels he is prepared to take the next step in his career and is open to a move away from Lille in the upcoming January transfer window.
Sanches has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool in the past. However, it appears Manchester United are now also in contention to sign the Portuguese international, who has once again emerged as a hot prospect in the market.
Formerly of Bayern Munich, Renato Sanches was a maligned figure during his stint in Bavaria. However, since arriving in Lille, the midfielder has enjoyed an exciting redemption, notching up 67 competitive appearances and notably helping Les Dogues sensationally win the Ligue 1 title last season.
Sanches has also made an impression with Portugal recently, even almost earning himself a move to Barcelona in the summer. Unfortunately, the move collapsed, most likely due to a meniscal injury that kept him out for almost two months. In addition, Liverpool also failed to secure his services as a result of his fitness issue.
However, the 24-year-old is now back from injury, with Liverpool once again in contention to snap him up in the January transfer window. Only this time, though, the Reds are set to face stiff competition from Manchester United, who are bracing themselves for the potential departure of Jesse Lingard.
Even Donny van de Beek is being subjected to a move away from Old Trafford, despite the recent sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. As a result, the Manchester board is keen on adding some much-needed reinforcements in the creative department, with Sanches fitting the bill well due to his technical prowess and tactical versatility.
In addition to Liverpool and Manchester United, Arsenal are another clubs in contention to sign the Portuguese international in the January transfer window. It is no secret that Mikel Arteta is keen on further reinforcements in the creative department after once again struggling with productivity this season.
The addition of someone like Sanches could make a lot of sense for Arsenal, who are also in the market for van de Beek. The player himself has unfinished business in the Premier League, having previously struggled in his loan spell at Swansea City. And with no less than three giants interested in acquiring his services, it promises to be an exciting January transfer window for the former Bayern Munich star.
