Superagent Jorge Mendes is looking to fix Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho up with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool.
According to the Daily Mail, superagent Jorge Mendes is looking to get Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho under his wing ahead of fixing him up with a move to Liverpool.
The 19-year-old is steadily making a name for himself at Craven Cottage and is attracting attention from some of the bigger names in the sport. In the final year of his contract at Fulham, he has scored four goals in 12 games for Marco Silva’s side.
Mendes is one of the biggest names in the sport and represents the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruben Neves. He believes Carvalho has what it takes to become an excellent player in the future. Attempts to capture interest in the youngster from Real Madrid and Barcelona have so far fallen flat. The aim now appears to be to convince Liverpool, who have been linked with the youngster.
Liverpool have struck gold raiding Fulham in recent years. The Reds signed youngster Harvey Elliott in 2019 and have seen the player develop into a first-team star for the club. The teenager’s breakout season was cruelly interrupted after he suffered a serious injury against Leeds United earlier this season.
Elliott, to his credit, played regularly for the club until then and looked set to make a name for himself in the top flight. Watching him experience such opportunities at Anfield could be an excellent endorsement to Carvalho to take his talents to Merseyside.
Mendes shares a good relationship with Liverpool. He played a rather unclear role in Fabinho’s move to the club in 2018 before helping Diogo Jota do the same in the summer of 2020. Whether he will go on to complete a hat-trick of deals with the Reds remains to be seen.
An attacking midfielder capable of also playing on the wings, Carvalho’s dynamism would be a welcome addition to Liverpool. The Reds have a number of their top stars hitting 30, and it is imperative to replace them sooner or later. In Carvalho, they might fight just the player who fits that profile.
More so, the chances of playing under Jurgen Klopp does not come very often. The German has a knack for getting the best out of players and has done that with Elliott. Whether Carvalho too will follow in the same footsteps remains to be seen.
