Tottenham Hotspur have contacted Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic, exploring a potential move next season.
According to CMIT TV, as cited by Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are hot on the heels of Dusan Vlahovic. The Fiorentina striker is highly favoured by the club’s managerial director Fabio Paratici, who is prepared to bring him to North London next season.
Tottenham have already begun talks with Vlahovic’s entourage over the potential move. Although they are yet to contact Fiorentina, they appear to have found the economic solution to fund the move for the highly-rated forward who is also courted by other Premier League giants like Liverpool.
Formerly of Partizan, much like one of Spurs’ other targets in Umar Sadiq, Vlahovic has firmly established himself as one of the most promising young attackers in Serie A, thanks to his consistent performances at Fiorentina.
In just 92 competitive matches, the Serbian forward has netted 35 goals for the club so far, with 21 of them coming in the 2020/21 Serie A campaign. He has started the new season on a strong note as well, scoring four goals in seven league outings.
Vlahovic’s goalscoring prowess combined with his towering figure has made him a desired target for Paratici, who does share a good relationship with the player as well.
It is apparent that Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new striker as they brace themselves for life without Harry Kane. Their frontline striker hasn’t enjoyed a good start to the campaign, having failed to even score a single Premier League goal, but he is highly tipped to leave the club next summer.
Manchester City are already involved in the pursuit of the former Leicester City loanee, whose potential departure will create a massive void in Spurs’ offensive unit.
The Lilywhites are now hoping to fill that void by signing the 21-year-old Vlahovic next summer. The 21-year-old Serbian has shown tremendous quality in Serie A so far and his physically astute style of play makes him an ideal fit for the Premier League.
He is not an unrealistic option either as the majority of top clubs across Europe are primarily eyeing moves for either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland, or both, as is the case with Real Madrid.
