Transfer News: Arsenal, Leeds plan offer for Noa Lang in January

Arsenal offer €47 million to sign Chelsea target Riccardo Calafiori, told to pay more.

Noa Lang is attracting plenty of quality interest from sides in the Premier League and Serie A, with the Dutchman tipped to move in the January window.

According to Voetbal24, Dutch star Noa Lang is expected to move to one of the big leagues, as some top sides show growing interest. Arsenal and Leeds United are among sides from the Premier League who might be willing to make an offer in the coming January window.

After a terrific season in the Belgian Jupiter Pro League, Noa Lang has been gaining some reputation in the European markets recently. Playing as a winger for Club Brugge, the Dutch attacker scored 14 goals and provided 8 assists in 24-league appearances.

This season, he has played 8 times domestically, scoring 3 goals in the process. Lang was also part of the Brugge side that drew with PSG in their only Champions League game this season. His displays and form indicate a big future as the squad lines up for his signature.

Lang only signed a new deal with Club Brugge last week, which lasts until 2025. Despite that, it’s believed the Belgian side will be willing to sell if a sizeable offer arrives—they’re reportedly looking for at least €30 million for the Dutch star.

Arsenal have changed their transfer approach recently and are regularly targeting players falling in a certain age profile. Lang, 22, is the kind of player they might be interested to sign, especially after making a move for another Belgian league star Sambi Lokonga, who has so far impressed.

The Gunners have various options in attack, with Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Nicolas Pepe taking up wide positions. However, Lang can also operate in multiple other attacking and midfield positions, offering the versatility that Mikel Arteta likes in players.

It remains to be seen if Arteta feels the need for another attacker in the next window and persuades the club to spend the necessary price to acquire Lang.

As for the other club, Leeds, they are always on the lookout for quality talent as Marcelo Bielsa looks to improve his options in attack. The Yorkshire club did make the late signing Manchester United winger Daniel James, but Bielsa might ask the club to sign Lang for his attacking verve and versatility.

Lang could prove to be a good signing for either side. The player has variety in his style and offers a good prospect for the future. He will certainly suit the playing style of both Premier League clubs. But with a freshly signed contract, it remains to be seen how much money Club Brugge realistically demand from clubs for the attacker.
