Bayern Munich are hoping to strike a swap deal with Tottenham Hotspur involving Corentin Tolisso and Tanguy Ndombele.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the opportunity to bring in Corentin Tolisso, if they are willing to part ways with Tanguy Ndombele. The direct swap deal has been proposed by Bayern Munich, who are interested in the services of the ex-Olympique Lyon midfielder this summer.

Spurs, though, appear to have no intention of going through with the swap deal. In fact, they have already rejected a lucrative bid of €20 million-plus Tolisso for the services of Ndombele, which is rather bizarre given the fact that new coach Nuno Espirito Santo does not seem to rate the Frenchman.

Ndombele, who had joined Tottenham in 2019 for a fee of €60 million, has found lift difficult in north London. He had struggled in his first year at the club under the leadership of Jose Mourinho. And while the midfielder showed promising signs last season, his progress was eventually halted during the midway point of the campaign.

The 24-year-old doesn’t appear to have any future under Nuno Espirito Santo, who has instead put his faith on the young Oliver Skipp. The Portuguese tactician is intent on offloading both Ndombele and his compatriot Moussa Sissoko while another midfielder in Harry Winks has emerged as a target for Everton.

Tolisso is facing a similar situation at Bayern Munich. His injury-laden career in Germany has seen him fall behind the likes of Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich in the pecking order. And in the wake of the pandemic, the Bavarians are keen on releasing him off the wage bill in order to fund a move for a new player.

The Frenchman could be an interesting addition to Tottenham, as they are in the market for a new midfielder. He could indeed pose strong competition for Skipp in central midfield and even compete with Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso in the advanced midfield slot.

The Lilywhites, though, are closing in on the capture of Pape Sarr of Metz. They have already submitted an official offer for the young midfielder, whose potential addition to the club should satiate Nuno as the club continues its spending spree this summer, having already brought in Cristian Romero, Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil so far.
