West Ham United are reportedly interested in Robin Olsen, who is not in Jose Mourinho’s plans at AS Roma, as the Hammers look to add more quality between the posts.

According to ForzaRoma, Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen is attracting interest from English clubs, with West Ham United keen on signing him. The former Everton goalkeeper is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans at Roma, and the club would like to cash in on him among several others before the transfer window ends.

David Moyes was expected to shore up his goalkeeping department as well as central defence heading into the summer transfer window. Craig Dawson was signed from Watford permanently, while there were several options for shot stoppers in the window.

West Ham made a smart move for PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola and signed the Frenchman on loan. However, the Hammers are looking for yet another shot-stopper despite the presence of Lukasz Fabianski.

Fabianski has been a long-serving player in the Premier League, starting his career with Arsenal then playing a key role with Swansea City. He has spent considerable time at West Ham and helped them finish in the European places last season. However, with the Pole at the wrong side of his career, Moyes wants a younger alternative as his no.2.

Robin Olsen is the one West Ham are interested in and could make a move for the Sweden international soon. Olsen spent last season at Everton, playing backup to Jordan Pickford. He was afforded decent game time in the Premier League and was a presence during their cup games.

However, Everton decided against making a permanent move, and sent him back to Roma, where he does not feature in Jose Mourinho’s plans. The club are looking to offload multiple players before the transfer window shuts to raise money for one or two strikers since Edin Dzeko is leaving.

The Italian giants have their sights on Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and are ready to commit to a loan with an option to buy deal, which could cost them around £34 million. If they fail to sign the Chelsea striker, they might go with Alexandre Lacazette of Arsenal. Either way, they need to raise money for such signings.

As for West Ham, they might not prioritise signing Olsen, for they already have a quality backup goalkeeper in Fabianski. However, if the asking price is reasonable, a move for the former Everton shot stopper might still materialise, while Roma will surely be against another loan and prefer to sell him outright.
