Transfer News: Manchester United confident of closing Sancho deal

Manchester United are set to table a new offer for long-term target Jadon Sancho and are confident of closing a deal for the Borussia Dortmund winger.

According to Daily Mirror, Manchester United are growing confident of sealing the transfer of Jadon Sancho. The Premier League heavyweights are set to present a new, improved offer for their priority target and believe Borussia Dortmund will accept their terms to end the protracted transfer saga for the England international.

Last summer, Manchester United fans got excited when news broke out of the imminent transfer of Jadon Sancho, only for the deal to collapse. Manchester United were always expected to return for him this summer and finally bring the England winger to Old Trafford. As things stand, the supporters can be excited again.

Sancho is believed to be ready to quit the Bundesliga and return to the Premier League by joining Manchester United. The winger has seen his stock rise in the last three seasons at Dortmund, where he has lit up the Bundesliga. The German club have also considerably slashed his asking price, and United remain confident.

Manchester United have already seen an initial offer rejected by Dortmund; hence, they are ready with a new £75 million bid, including add-ons. The Old Trafford hierarchy believes the new offer would be sufficient to prise their priority target away from Germany.

There’s also a reported ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between Dortmund and Sancho to let the England international leave for the Premier League. However, Manchester United are believed to be the only side firmly interested in Sancho, and it is widely expected he will move back to England.

Sancho is believed to be the one transfer that many believe will let Manchester United be title challengers again. The winger is considered the missing piece from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s puzzle. It could be accurate considering United have struggled to find any rhythm from the right side of the attack.

Mason Greenwood played many games from the right wing position, although his preferred position seems to be from the middle. The extension of Edinson Cavani and the signing of Sancho will enable Greenwood to play from the centre more often than from the flanks. Manchester United also remain in the hunt for a striker, nevertheless.

Now it remains in Manchester United’s hand to submit a reasonable offer for Sancho, one that will be deemed enough by Dortmund to accept. Whether Dortmind accept the Red Devils’ new £75 million offer and enable Sancho to move to Old Trafford finally remains to be seen.
