Transfer News: Real Madrid interested in Alberto Del Moral

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old Spanish midfielder Alberto Del Moral from lower league side Cordoba in the summer.

According to a report from Spanish publication Defensa Central, Real Madrid are plotting a raid on Spanish lower division side Cordoba for the signing of promising midfielder Alberto Del Moral in the upcoming transfer window.

Del Moral came through the youth ranks at Cordoba and made his first-team debut for the Blanquiverde in October last year. Since then, the 20-year-old has gone on to feature 21 times across all competitions, scoring two goals and setting up one more.

Held in the highest of regards within the club, Del Moral is said to be facing an uncertain future due to Cordoba’s potential relegation, as per the report. And, a host of clubs from across Spain have expressed an interest in the young central midfielder. Indeed, the likes of Getafe, Leganes, Osasuna, Real Betis, Atletico Madrid have all cast admiring glances towards him.

And now, Real Madrid, too, have entered the fray to try and sign Del Moral in the summer. While there is no denying that Los Blancos need additions in the middle of the park at the first-team level, owing to Luka Modric’s age and the uncertain futures of players like Isco and Martin Odegaard, Del Moral is a signing that is being targeted for the club’s Castilla outfit.

The Merengues, heading into the summer transfer window, are keen on bolstering their Castilla outfit that is managed by club legend Raul Gonzalez. To that end, they have been linked with a number of talented young players such as Sevilla’s promising youth prospect Pablo Rivera, as well as Villarreal goalkeeper Marc Vidal, who is also a target for Barcelona.

Del Moral is the latest such player to pop up on the radars of Real Madrid. The young midfielder has three years left on his current contract with Cordoba, but it also contains an exit clause of around €500,000 which can be triggered to sign him up.

While the Blanquiverde are intent on holding on to him, it is also said that there is an agreement between the player and the club to allow an exit should a team from a higher division come calling. And, as things stand, a transfer is looking like a strong possibility for Del Moral. Whether that will be to Real Madrid remains to be seen.
