Diogo Jota could be set to spearhead the Liverpool attack when they take on Fulham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool face Fulham on Sunday afternoon hoping to end their disastrous slump at home, following five back to back defeats at Anfield. It has left them dawdling in the seventh place, with Jurgen Klopp facing a massive dilemma in terms of team selection.

Crucial first-team defenders like Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip remain out, but in addition, Ozan Kabak is a massive doubt heading into this fixture.

“Ozan had after the game a little problem. He has played a lot of games now and we will see if he is ready for Fulham. It doesn’t look like in the moment, so we will have to find solutions,” Jürgen Klopp revealed during the pre-match press conference.

Fortunately for the German, Nat Phillips is back in contention and should start alongside Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson in the Liverpool backline, while Alisson Becker remains in between the sticks, desperately hoping for a clean sheet.

There could be at least one change in midfield, though, with Klopp having one eye on the crucial UEFA Champions League match-up against RB Leipzig. As such, Curtis Jones might be rested, having been an ever-present figure in the Liverpool midfield for the most part of the campaign.

It should pave the way for Naby Keita to make a rare starting appearance after dealing with injury problems throughout the course of the season. The Guinean international is hoping to add that extra pinch of creativity that could come in vital as Liverpool look to breach the Fulham defence that is likely to remain deep.

Keita will thus partner Thiago Alcantara and Georginio Wijnaldum in the middle of the park. This little trifecta could play a key role in offering the proper transition to the attack, where Mohamed Salah should start once again.

The Egyptian international looked jaded when he was substituted against Chelsea. However, he will have the opportunity to make an impact alongside Sadio Mane on the flanks this weekend, while the one change in the Liverpool attack could see Roberto Firmino making way for Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese international returned to the pitch in the defeat to Chelsea and should be ecstatic to get back into the frame, during the remainder of the campaign for Liverpool. Firmino, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri will be among the backup attacking options for Liverpool against Fulham.

Liverpool Predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Keita; Salah, Jota, Mane
