La Liga outfit Getafe are considering a double assault on Barcelona and Real Madrid and are eyeing moves for Carles Alena and Takefusa Kubo respectively.
Spanish publication AS claim Getafe are looking to raid Barcelona and Real Madrid for their young stars. The La Liga outfit have their eyes set on Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena and Real Madrid forward Takefusa Kubo and are considering the prospect of bringing them in during the January transfer window.
The report states that Getafe are looking to secure loan moves for Carles Alena and Takefusa Kubo in January, with manager Jose Bordalas keen to recruit the two youngsters. As far as Kubo is concerned, the Real Madrid star is also on the radar of Real Betis and Real Sociedad while there is no mention of other suitors for Alena in the report.
Getafe have just four midfielders in their squad, with Bordalas having to call Ante Palaversa, David Timor, Mauro Arambarri and Nemanja Maksimovic the options at his disposal. The midfield is running thin with fixtures coming in thick and fast and Bordalas is looking to add another player to the squad, with Alena, who is out-of-favour at Barcelona, an ideal option.
The 22-year-old has been on Getafe’s radar for more than a year and would be interested in a move, having managed just 170 minutes of first-team football at Barcelona in the 2020/21 campaign.
Again, in terms of wingers, Marc Cucurella is the only natural option for the left side while the likes of Abdoulay Diaby, Victor Mollejo and Francisco Portillo are all available for the right side, Kubo will ingest freshness and quality, if he comes.
Kubo is interested in a move in order to get regular first-team football, having failed to establish himself as a starter on loan at Villarreal under Unai Emery. Getafe will need to convince the Japanese youngster to choose them over Real Betis and Real Sociedad.
The 19-year-old hasn’t impressed much in the opportunities afforded to him by Emery, with the Real Madrid star failing to register a single goal or assist in 13 La Liga appearances while managing one each in the 5 Europa League matches he has played.
Even though Alena and Kubo might be 22 and 19 respectively, Getafe manager Jose Bordalas is aware of the quality they possess and what they will be able to add to the squad, with Getafe currently sitting just 3 points above the relegation zone right now. The Alena deal looks like it should go through, at least.
