Premier League leaders Liverpool are reportedly considering signing Scottish winger Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

As per an exclusive report from talkSPORT, Premier League table toppers Liverpool are interested in signing Scotland international Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth in the winter transfer window and to that end, are in advanced negotiations with the Cherries over a possible transfer.

Fraser has been with Bournemouth since 2013, having arrived from Scottish giants Aberdeen. The winger has racked up 189 appearances for the club till date, bagging 24 goals and 31 assists in the process. Fraser enjoyed his most prolific season with the Cherries last time out, as he finished with 8 goals and 15 assists from 42 matches in all competitions.

The 2019-20 campaign hasn’t started on the best of notes for the 25-year-old, though, as he has netted just once and set up two more in 12 games so far. There have been speculations that Fraser has had his head turned after he attracted serious interest from Premier League giants Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Fraser is believed to have set his sights on an exit from Bournemouth and is prepared to run down his contract which expires at the end of the season. The Cherries are understood to have accepted the fact that they will be unable to hold on to the Scotsman and as per the report, want to cash in on him in January rather than losing him for nothing in the summer.

Fraser’s potential availability in January at a cut-price fee has alerted Premier League leaders Liverpool, who are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Bournemouth for the signing of the winger. The Reds have made an exceptional start to the season and are unbeaten in the league, with an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Having had a quiet summer transfer window, manager Jurgen Klopp is open to the possibility of strengthening his squad in January as he looks to lead Liverpool to their first ever Premier League title. And, with Xherdan Shaqiri spending a lot of time on the sidelines this season, the German tactician is considering boosting up his attacking ranks with the signing of Fraser.

Despite his slow start to the season, Fraser has got more assists than any player in the Premier League since the start of last season. While the 25-year-old will not be replacing any of Liverpool’s first-choice attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, he would be more than a handy weapon from the bench for the Reds.

The report adds that the 11-time capped Scottish international could be available for around £10-15 million, which would be a steal in the current market, given his age and potential. But, it remains to be seen if there is any truth to these reports and whether Liverpool actually do make a move for Fraser when the transfer window reopens in a few weeks.
