Manchester United have reportedly closed out a deal for Bruno Fernandes and are set to sign the Sporting CP playmaker in the coming days.

Sport TV reporter and Sports journalist Juan Roberto has claimed that there is a lot of news emerging from the local areas that Manchester United have struck an agreement with Sporting CP for Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese playmaker was being recently tailed by Tottenham as well.

Roberto has added that Manchester United have concluded all negotiations with Sporting CP and that Bruno Fernandes is set to have his medical in the coming days. The news comes hours after there were reports that the Portuguese playmaker was not on the list of targets for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This news also succeeds the information surrounding the Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku swap deal being on the rocks, owing to the Argentine’s wage demands and the commission asked by his agent. While there is no confirmation as to whether the swap deal has gone cold, it seems Manchester United have finally been able to conclude a deal for Bruno Fernandes.

Bruno Fernandes had a blitz of a 2018-19 campaign, contributing directly in 50 goals at Sporting CP (32 goals, 18 assists). The numbers obviously demanded attention from the who’s who of Europe, with several clubs including Manchester United interested in the 24-year-old.

Manchester United can play Bruno Fernandes in a multitude of positions. The Portuguese can be the answer to United’s problems in the number 10 role. Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have different skillsets but Bruno could prove to be the perfect amalgamation of the two.

Paul Pogba may be linked with an exit. But, even if he stays, United need more quality in midfield. Bruno Fernandes could take a load off of Pogba as the only creative star within the squad. Also, should Solskjaer revert to a 4-3-3, Fernandes could form a box-to-box midfield partnership with Pogba, with Nemanja Matic or Scott McTominay playing as a holding midfielder.

With the Dybala trail going cold, Manchester United fans have been demanding the signing of Bruno Fernandes. And if Juan Roberto is to be believed, they will get their wish soon.
