Krystian Bielik does not have a shortage of options as up to four clubs from the Championship are lining up the versatile Arsenal player for a summer transfer.
Arsenal’s recent transfer business has been encouraging enough for fans that they might be ready to forgive the club for letting a talented player leave. According to a report from Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty, as carried by The Sun, Arsenal want £10 million for versatile defensive player Krystian Bielik in the current window, as up to four clubs from the Championship eye his signature for the upcoming season.
Bielik comes back to Arsenal after several loan spells since joining the side back in 2015. His previous club Legia Warsaw will receive a sizeable chunk of any transfer fee Arsenal generate through his sale. The Polish team had agreed to this when Arsene Wenger made the signing. With only two years left on his contract, Arsenal will be looking to cash in on him now rather than later and want £10 million for the Pole.
Bielik had an impressive last season with Charlton where he helped the side gain promotion to the Championship. He followed up a brilliant domestic season with an impressive display with the Poland U-21 side at Euro U-21 this summer. Looking at the way he has been playing, we thought he might be Arsenal’s solution to some of their defensive problems. But that’s not the case anymore.
Unai Emery is not a big fan of the towering Pole. The Spanish manager has not been impressed in any way and is ready to sell him to generate some much-needed funds for transfers. Arsenal were thought to be on a stringent budget for the summer, yet are set to close a club-record deal for Lille star Nicolas Pepe in the coming days. They have also added William Saliba and brought Dani Ceballos on loan.
For Bielik, owing to his performances, Premier League interest was expected. Instead, its majorly Championship sides that are showing an interest in the versatile defensive star. Derby County, West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough and Brentford FC are the clubs lining up a move for Bielik.
The Polish U-21 star has already stated his desire to continue playing first-team football and does not wish to play for Arsenal’s lower sides. Despite the fact that current Arsenal assistant coach Freddie Ljungberg knows all about his qualities, Emery seems not to rate him just yet.
On the other hand, Arsenal are not anywhere close to offering him a new deal, meaning he is free to leave but at the right price. Playing in the Championship may not be what Bielik might have been looking forward to, but it certainly is a proper stage for him to showcase his performances. It might just be the right chance for him to take a forward step in his career.
