Inter Milan are reportedly ready to include Ivan Perisic in a player plus cash deal to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.

According to FC Inter News, Inter Milan are ready to make multiple offers to Manchester United in their pursuit to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer. The Nerazzurri are keen to bolster their attacking department due to the likely sale of star forward Mauro Icardi, and Lukaku has been identified as the desired replacement for the Argentine.

It is believed that Manchester United are looking for something around €60-70 million for their prized attacker. But, Inter Milan could propose a swap deal that could see Ivan Perisic moving to the other side, with the Italian giants paying a further €20-30 million for the services of Lukaku.

This could make a world of sense for Inter, who are in desperate need of a centre-forward this summer. Lautaro Martinez will be their only reliable option. But, the young Argentine hasn’t really fired in his first season at the club, amassing a little over 1,300 minutes of league action. He has scored only six goals but was notably scoreless in the last five matches.

Hence, the addition of someone like Lukaku could revamp Inter’s attacking department. The Belgian international is a well-established forward, who has impressed the onlookers during his time in the Premier League. He has netted 113 league goals in 252 matches while mustering 42 assists – an incredible record for any attacker in the world.

Furthermore, the ex-Everton star will also offer physicality in attack while his hold-up play will allow the likes of Antonio Candreva and Matteo Politano to operate with more freedom in the final third.

As for Manchester United, the departure of Lukaku will allow them to make way for a new striker this summer. The Belgian has visibly struggled to adapt to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack-oriented gameplay at Manchester United. And having scored just 12 goals in the 2018-19 campaign, it is unlikely he’ll be considered as a vital part of the United attack next season.

The addition of Ivan Perisic, on the other hand, will be a logical one as well. The Croatian international can add more bite to the Manchester United, which has lacked precision in recent years, especially with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial struggling to make a sustained impact.

Perisic, himself, has a long-time ambition of playing in the Premier League. The ex-Borussia Dortmund winger has vast experience in top-flight football and will quickly integrate into the fast-paced nature of English football.

On the flip side, Perisic’s departure will serve as a massive blow for Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri lack reliable options in the wide-department, especially with Antonio Candreva already nearing the final phase of his career. That leaves with Keita Baldé Diao and Politano as their only remaining options.

But, spending less money on Lukaku means they will have the financial resources to sign a new winger, thus making this a beneficial move not just for United but both the parties involved.
