Manchester United are reportedly chasing the signature of Hannibal Mejbri and have tabled a huge offer to the AS Monaco wonderkid.

According to RMC Sport, AS Monaco could be set to lose one of their young gems. Hannibal Mejbri is reportedly a target for Manchester United amid contract disputes between the player’s camp and Monaco. The report states that the Red Devils have already made an offer to Mejbri to bring him over to Old Trafford.

The report iterates that Mejbri’s current deal at AS Monaco is set to run till 2021. But, the relationship between the player’s camp and the club have broken down, with Mejbri’s family taking the support of legal proceedings to try and nullify the contract between the two parties.

RMC Sport add that AS Monaco do not want to lose a player of Mejbri’s potential and are confident of winning the legal procedure that has been initiated in front of the Professional Football League at the behest of Mejbri’s family, who want the player to be released and the contract to be cancelled.

The midfielder himself seems determined to leave AS Monaco, with the report iterating that he has not reported to the training ground for three weeks now. While the youngster’s family and Monaco both await the decision of the proceedings, the rumour mill is abuzz with reports of Manchester United submitting a huge offer to the midfielder.

The Red Devils have upped the ante in terms of youth recruitment in the last couple of years, something that is starting to pay dividends, with the likes of Tahith Chong, Nishan Burkart and more looking like top prospects for the first-team setup in the near future as well.

The Under-18 squad at Manchester United though, has gone under a bit of a overhaul, with most of the gems being promoted to the Under-23s. In midfield, United could use a prospect like Mejbri, who could be the generational talent of this batch of the Under-18 squad.

Interestingly, this is not Manchester United’s first offer, with reports in January stating that United had submitted a deadline day offer for the AS Monaco youngster, but nothing came to fruition.

The report states that Manchester United had concrete discussions with the player and his camp for a move over the last few months and are likely to be the frontrunners to sign the youngster, should his AS Monaco contract get nullified.

While the details of the ‘huge offer’ has not been revealed, it is safe to say that the Red Devils are serious about Mejbri, who could be heading to England, if everything goes accordingly.
