Jurgen Klopp will be ecstatic to have key man Mohamed Salah back fit and raring to start for Liverpool as they host Wolves at Anfield on Sunday.

The Premier League title race has come down to the wire, the last gameweek of the 2018-19 season. Liverpool need a win to have any hopes of making a dramatic late swoop for the title. And Jurgen Klopp’s mission has been boosted by the return of Mohamed Salah, who missed the match against Barcelona, as Liverpool take on Wolves on Sunday.

Andrew Robertson and Jordan Henderson both suffered injuries against Barcelona. But, there is good news for fans, with Jurgen Klopp confirming in his pre-match conference, that the duo are fit for the Wolves fixture.

“Very important for all the young lads to learn, I’ve said that already to the boys. Hendo said, ‘It’s only pain’, Robbo said, ‘It’s only pain’ – but it was real pain, wow! Unfortunately, Robbo could deal with the pain but only the rest of his body couldn’t because he couldn’t really activate the muscle anymore, some nerve hit or whatever. They should be fine [for Sunday].”

Robertson should start on the left side of the back four, with Trent Alexander-Arnold stationed on the right. Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip will be the centre-back pairing, with Alisson in goal for Liverpool against Wolves on Sunday.

In midfield, Champions League hero Georginio Wijnaldum should come in for James Milner. Wijnaldum should be accompanied in the midfield by Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, who will both retain their spot from the Champions League second leg match against Barcelona.

In attack, Roberto Firmino will be a big miss. But, Klopp did have good news for Liverpool fans, stating that Mohamed Salah has returned to training and could feature against Wolves.

Klopp said, “Bobby not [available] for the weekend, but we have time [before the Champions League final] and that should be enough. Mo looked good around the celebrations after the game, to be honest! The day before yesterday and yesterday he was running outside and will be part of training today.”

Divock Origi should continue to deputise in the frontline in Firmino’s absence. The Belgian was brilliant against Barcelona and Klopp will be hoping for a repeat of his midweek performance on Sunday. Sadio Mane and Salah should complete the starting eleven in what will be Liverpool’s last roll of the dice in the title race.
