Everton are hoping to cut a deal with Barcelona for yet another player as the Toffees want a transfer for Malcom, although the player wants to stay.
Malcom made headlines in the summer following his transfer to Barcelona from Bordeaux. The shipment came under the spotlight when Barcelona took him under the noses of Roma who claimed to had agreed on a deal with the Brazilian. Spanish outlet Marca are now reporting Malcom could be on the move again and Everton looks like the side interested in him.
Back in the summer, it looked like Barcelona got a good deal in signing Malcom for €41 million. The Catalans were not initially in for the Brazilian, but got in with a really late bid. Everton were also very much in the race and were thought to have bid €35 million, although Barcelona were the obvious choice for the player.
Six months from that transfer, there is speculation that Malcom could be on the move again with the Premier League a likely destination. the news comes after reports of his unhappiness at Barcelona amid a lack of playing time. Despite being impressive during pre-season, Malcom has only featured five times and a total of 97 minutes.
Everton are now sniffing around the player and want to know if Barcelona would want to do a deal for Malcom. Everton would be hoping their summer deals with Barcelona could play a part if Malcom is put on the market. Everton signed Andre Gomes on loan as well as Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina on permanent deals in the summer from Camp Nou.
Malcom has been on the radar of some of the big clubs in the Premier League as well as in Europe such as Bayern Munich. Since it was clear the Brazilian is not getting enough game time, there was reported interest from Arsenal and Tottenham for a January move. In between those stated interests, Barcelona also reportedly got a massive €65 million offer from China, although all those speculations have cooled off.
Now with Everton interested, Malcom might have to make a decision on his future. It is quite clear that his current situation might not change at Camp Nou, but he is prepared to be patient and wait until at least the summer to know what’s in store for him at the club. Everton might just be lucky to get him out of Barcelona if the club makes their intention clear on his future now.
