Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has praised Serie A champions Juventus, hinting at a possible move to Turin in the future.

Belgian international Romelu Lukaku has admitted that he is open to swapping Manchester United for Juventus in the future.

Lukaku is in his second season with Manchester United, having joined from Everton in a £75 million deal last year. The 25-year-old enjoyed a stellar debut campaign with the Red Devils, as he finished as the club top scorer with 27 goals in 51 matches across all competitions, and had 9 assists against his name to go along with the impressive goal tally.

However, the 2018-19 campaign has been a bit of a struggle for the big Belgian forward. Lukaku, so far this season, has managed just four goals in 11 matches across all competitions.

The striker has gone without a goal for six games in all competitions now and has been guilty of missing some gilt-edged chances throughout the campaign. His last goal for Manchester United came in the 2-1 win over Watford in September.

Lukaku’s misfiring form has been limited to club level only though, as he has been in fine nick for the Belgium national team. The centre-forward, who had a great 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign, has scored five goals in three international matches after the summer extravaganza.

Currently away on international duty, the Belgian was quizzed about the possibility of him moving to Italy in the future, to which he told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Why not? I hope so.”

The 25-year-old then went on lavish praises on Juventus, who Manchester United will be facing in the UEFA Champions League group stages later this month. Speaking of the Bianconeri, Lukaku said: “They [Juventus] have a big project and they never stop.

“Each year, they look to get better. Without doubt they are one of the two or three best sides. They’ve got a great coach on the bench and extraordinary players all over the field. Cristiano is their best player, but look out for the others: [Paulo] Dybala is already really good and he’s getting better, while I love Douglas Costa.”

Lukaku, who was linked with a shock move to Real Madrid this past summer, has a contract with Manchester United that runs till the summer of 2022. The Belgian has spoken of his pride at representing the Red Devils on a number of occasions in the past and has repeatedly claimed that he is enjoying life at Old Trafford.

So an immediate move to Italy does seem unlikely for the 25-year-old. But, a transfer in the near future, maybe a couple of years down the line, could definitely be on the cards. For now, the Belgian international will be looking to get back to goal-scoring form for Manchester United.
