Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with AS Roma to sign Alisson and have submitted a €70 million bid to sign the Brazilian international.

Fabrizio Romano has broken a sensational development as regards Liverpool and their search for a new goalkeeper. The Italian transfer expert is claiming that Liverpool have opened talks with AS Roma for Alisson and have even lodged a bid to sign the goalkeeper.

The bid is reported to be at €70 million including add-ons. There were reports that Alisson had his heart set on a move to Real Madrid and was ready to reject advances from other teams. Romano though, has added that Alisson is prepared to accept Liverpool’s offer should AS Roma and the Reds be able to come to an agreement as to the transfer fee.

The Italian expert has also claimed that AS Roma are believed to be holding out for €75 million. This means that while Liverpool are still short of Alisson’s asking price, the difference has narrowed down and we could see an agreement being confirmed in the coming days.

Alisson Becker has performed his way not just into the status of being one of the best goalkeepers in world football but also onto the transfer wishlist of the best of clubs. The World Cup campaign might have ended prematurely in the Quarter-Finals. But, the Brazilian is still a coveted man in the transfer market.

Real Madrid seem fixated on the thought of Thibaut Courtois now, which will be a huge blow for Alisson. The AS Roma star was gunning for a move to the current European champions. But, he could be in for a move to the team that was the second-best in Europe for the 2017-18 season – Liverpool.

Loris Karius seemed to be set to remain the first-choice, according to reports. But, it seems Loris Karius and his troubles in goal in the pre-season friendlies has forced Jurgen Klopp’s hand. According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are in talks with AS Roma for Alisson, who has been their long-term target to fill the goalkeeping position ahead of the new season.

Other suitors could come in for Alisson. But, Liverpool seem to be moving at a good pace to thwart the threat of a potential entry of a third club into the picture. With a move to Real Madrid now a distant dream, we should see Liverpool manage to sign Alisson without much trouble, especially with their and Roma’s valuation not being too far apart.
