Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, who is valued around £53 million by the Italian champions.

According to renowned journalist Duncan Castles and as reported by The Sun, Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Alex Sandro. The Juventus superstar has been subjected to a move out of Italy this summer, having been linked with some of Europe’s top clubs in recent months.

The Sunday Times reporter revealed on the famous Transfer Window podcast: “This summer United have decided to go for Alex Sandro. They have put a deal in place with the player, the player wants to (join) and Juventus are holding out for up to 60million euros (£53m). They (Juventus) have seen the market and are thinking they can cash in big time.”

After arriving at Turin in a €26m move from Porto, Sandro has been fundamental to Juventus’ success in recent years. During his three-year stint at the club, the Brazilian has already made over 100 appearances for the Italian giants, helping them sustain their sheer dominance in the Serie A.

Aside from winning three back-to-back doubles since joining the club, Sandro has also played a key role in his team’s excellent performances in the Champions League that saw them transform into one of the best clubs in European football.

That being said, the 27-year-old has suffered a major setback after he was snubbed by Brazilian head coach Tite for the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup squad. Therefore, he will be eager to prove his worth next season and a move to the Premier League could provide him with a perfect platform where he can showcase his talents.

In addition, Juventus are also looking to bolster their squad this summer, after almost being toppled by Napoli last season. The transfer of Alex Sandro, could, therefore, help them fund their transfers with the Old Lady already linked with a sensational coup of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sources claim that the 33-year old attacker has agreed on a €100 move to Italy and thus, the sale of Alex Sandro of imperative in order to sustain their wage structure.

This could be a huge boost for Manchester United with head coach Jose Mourinho keen on strengthening his side’s defence this summer. Luke Shaw, who was believed to be the long-term replacement for Patrice Evra, has seen his career at Manchester United marred with injuries. The former Southampton player also faces an uncertain future with the club with Mourinho often opting for Ashley Young in the left-back position for the most part of last season.

However, at the age of 32, the English international is nearing the end of his playing career. In addition, Dutchman Daley Blind has also struggled to establish himself as a regular under Jose Mourinho, thus accentuating the need for a new signing this summer.

And it goes without saying that the Red Devils will be hugely boosted by the addition of Alex Sandro. The 27-year-old is more than capable of fixing United’s problems in the left back positions, who also acquires an ample amount of experience in the highest level of football.

But that being said, Juventus have remained stubborn on their £53 million asking price for their prized defender. Thus, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils are willing to match Juventus’ valuation for Alex Sandro this summer as they aim to pose a strong threat for the title next season.
