Ousmane Dembele, the French international Barcelona player is wanted by the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is hoping to land the 21 year old player.

Despite joining Barcelona for a huge sum of £135 million last year with a lot of expectations from fans towards the former Borussia Dortmund player, Ousmane Dembele had an underwhelming season at FC Barcelona. The injuries led to an extended absence from action, which sparked the rumours of Frenchman leaving Camp Nou this year.

It is reported by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo that Liverpool managed Jurgen Klopp has a keen interest in bringing the French international to Anfield.

The German coach perfectly knows the quality of Ousmane Dembele, who has followed him since he arrived at Borussia Dortmund. But, Jurgen Klopp’s battle in buying Ousmane Dembele isn’t bound to the colossal tag of £135 million Barcelona invested a year ago.

Although Ousmane Dembele currently prefers to stay in Barcelona as he aspires to develop and win trophies at his current club, despite the potential arrival of Antonio Griezmann looming over the club. Jurgen Klopp, however, stays resolved to attempt to battle for the signing of Ousmane Dembele, whom he would also be open to take on a loan deal.

The Liverpool manager will talk personally with the Barcelona player and his mother directly, to attempt to clarify his strategic plans for the new development project of the ‘Reds ‘ which includes new signings, for example, Naby Keita and Fabinho.

The issue lies with various perspectives inside the club as the Board needs to overhaul their quality between the goal-posts after an awful display by Loris Karius in Champions League final against Real Madrid, and neither his substitute Simon Mignolet is relied upon to be given the duty.

Jasper Cillessen is a name that has emerged as a potential target for Liverpool, while Alisson Becker, Jan Oblak and Gianluigi Donnarumma are also on the Reds’ radar.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp aspires to add more attacking quality even after having Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino but the need of a better goalkeeper seems to be a necessity to Liverpool, which might lead to weakening of a move for Ousmane Dembele as all the aforementioned targets have high buyout clauses, hence insufficient budget may end up with Liverpool dropping their pursuit of the Frenchman.

Ousmane Dembele, who appeared 20 times for FC Barcelona this season, hopes to triumph at Nou Camp itself. Ernesto Valverde, manager of FC Barcelona, maintains his confidence in the Frenchman and wants to see him again next season, as he provides multiple tactical alternatives to Valverde.

Jurgen Klopp’s ambition to bring Ousmane Dembele seems unlikely to happen as chances are distantly not in favour of this move to happen, with the youngster describing the Catalan club as his dream.
