Liverpool have reportedly made a move to bring Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in the summer, according to Guinean journalist Alpha Balde.
Guinean journalist Alpha Balde has speculated that Liverpool are interested in Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and have already initiated a move to bring the player to Anfield in the summer transfer window. The Nigerian has been linked to Liverpool for a while now.
While there are no other sources that point towards the deal, Alpha Balde is a renowned journalist and has a recent history of getting rumours on point, as far as Liverpool are concerned. The journalist was one of the first to confirm Naby Keita’s move to Liverpool, which ultimately ended up happening.
Ndidi approché par Liverpool. Le joueur aurait donné son accord. Reste à se mettre d’accord avec Leicester qui demande beaucoup. #LFC @LFCroundup

Wilfred Ndidi was brought in by Leicester to replace N’Golo Kante, after the latter joined Chelsea. The player struggled in the start, but has since established himself as one of the key players within the Leicester setup. Ndidi has maintained his spot even after the appointment of Claude Puel and is one of the first names on the team sheet.
Ndidi has, in fact, started all 30 of Leicester’s Premier League matches, playing all but 29 minutes of the Premier League action for the club. The 21-year-old though, is now on Liverpool’s radar, who are looking to add to their midfield in the summer.
Liverpool have Naby Keita arriving in the summer. But, Emre Can is set to depart in the same transfer window and Jurgen Klopp must be aware that his side still lacks a midfield enabler of sorts, an anchor-man who can stabilize the midfield and also take the space between the defence and midfield.
Ndidi has proven himself in the same role at Leicester so far and his energy and tenacity has seen him being likened to N’Golo Kante, the man he has brought in to replace. Add to it Ndidi’s ability from long range and match-winning pedigree, Liverpool could use someone like the 21-year-old to launch a charge towards the elusive Premier League trophy in the new campaign.
Alpha Balde has iterated that the player has agreed to move to Anfield in the summer, with a fee the only thing left to be agreed between Liverpool and Leicester. The journalist though, has cautioned that Ndidi’s employers are asking a hefty amount to part with the 21-year-old, an amount that Liverpool might just deem too much and drop their interest.
But, the Reds are likely to attempt to negotiate a lower fee and if they fail, they will then have to decide whether Ndidi is a player who will be the perfect fit and a player they absolutely need, in which case Liverpool have shown that they are willing to spend to bring the right player into the setup, case in point being Virgil van Dijk.
The entire rumour will take more shape as we get closer to the end of the season. But, Ndidi is a profile that will interest not just Liverpool but a lot of other clubs, if Leicester do agree to listen to offers for the 21-year-old.
