Real Madrid are reportedly looking to seal a January move for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in order to rectify their problems in front of goal.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Real Madrid are looking to engineer their own move for a Liverpool player. Los Blancos have been struggling to put up numbers in front of goal and are looking to bring in in-form Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah to remedy the alarming situation.
Mohamed Salah has hit the ground running and more at Liverpool. The player joined Liverpool after a month-long speculation and drawn out negotiations with AS Roma. And he has been an inspired signing for the Reds this season, with 23 goals and 8 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions so far.
The player has become the first Liverpool player after Luis Suarez to register 20 goals or more in a single campaign, with almost half-a season left. Salah has alleviated the need for an out-and-out forward for the Reds up until now. But, Real Madrid reportedly have their prying eyes on the Egyptian hero now.
Real have been having their fair share of problems this season, with the club floundering at fourth on the La Liga table – 16 points behind leaders Barcelona. Los Blancos do have a game in hand over those above them on the table. But, it hardly is a comforting point, given their struggles.

One of the most alarming things about the present season has been Real Madrid’s lack of teeth in front of goal. Cristiano Ronaldo looks nothing like the man who just won his fifth Ballon d’Or while Karim Benzema has been disappointing as well.
Gareth Bale’s return has been timely, but even his brace could not help Real Madrid to a win, after Celta Vigo managed to eke out a 2-2 draw on Sunday. Florentino Perez remains aware of the fact that Zidane is unlikely to bench Karim Benzema. Hence, a move for Mohamed Salah could be the perfect antidote.
The move could very well see Salah take up Ronaldo’s role out wide, which would push the Portuguese to start upfront culminating in an indirect benching for Benzema. Alternatively, if Bale ends up leaving, Salah’s arrival could offset the Welshman’s departure at Santiago Bernabeu.
One sticking point in the whole pursuit would be Liverpool and their unwillingness to part with a second superstar in one window, especially mid-season. The Reds have been known to be a club that cave in to ginormous bids from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
But, with Philippe Coutinho already departing the club, Liverpool are unlikely to let Salah leave, even if they do procure a replacement for the Brazilian. Perez though, will not go down without a fight, and a fight is what Klopp and the Liverpool hierarchy should prepare for, if they intend to hold Salah beyond January.
