Leicester City winger Demarai Gray is reportedly holding showdown talks with the club amid interest from Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton

According to a report by The Sun, Demarai Gray is set to hold talks with Leicester City about his future as Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton register an interest in the winger. It is believed that Gray is quite frustrated with a lack of game time last season and wants to quit the King Power stadium.

Gray joined Leicester City only last year and was a part of St Andrews prior to that. He started his career with Birmingham and rose quickly through the ranks to make the club’s first-team setup in 2013. The player was quite impressive with the Championship club, but failed to make any impact with Leicester City.

Last year, Leicester made their way to a shock Premier League win wherein Gray was reduced to being merely an impact sub. The recently concluded season saw his role reduce further as the club struggled to defend the trophy successfully.

In fact, Gray made 41 appearances in all competitions for Leicester last season, but managed to start in just 14 of these. His poor numbers can largely be blamed on his lack of game time since Gray only managed to score two goals and five assists.

The 21-year-old is extremely talented though, which does explain the amount of interest in obtaining his signature. Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are all interested in signing him, and with the player’s unhappiness being apparent, Gray could be well on his way to either of these clubs this summer.

If he joins Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp will certainly be happy since he is determined to boost his attack forces ahead of the new season. The manager has already secured the services of Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke, but it is understood that Klopp is keen to add a layer of depth to his front line.

Tottenham, too, are in need of an attacking winger after failing to win the Premier League yet again last season. Despite coming so close for two consecutive seasons, the Spurs missed out on the trophy and manager Mauricio Pochettino will be aware of the fact that there is just something missing.

Although Pochettino can depend on the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min, the manager will need reinforcements in the upcoming season. Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko have been struggling with their issues of inconsistency, and Gray has been identified as a target to possibly add more depth to the attack.

Everton, on the other hand, have their own troubles with Ross Barkley as the forward is keen to seek pastures anew this summer. If the player does leave, Gray could have a place in the first-team set up for Ronald Koeman’s club.

Considering that Gray is looking for a club wherein he can clock regular playing minutes, Everton seems to be the ideal option for him. At Liverpool and Tottenham, Gray will have to compete for a starting spot but then he would also get a chance to feature in the coveted Champions League matches.
