Gareth Bale has returned to the first team squad after an injury layoff that saw him miss out on a number of key games.
The title is within touching distance for Real Madrid as all that is remaining for them now is to pick up a point away from home at Malaga and lift the La Liga trophy for the first time in five years.
They have been a step ahead of Barcelona all season long, and despite failing to beat them in either of the El Clasicos, they already have one hands on the trophy and will be looking to seal the deal against Malaga on Sunday.
The biggest injury update for the Real Madrid faithful is that Welsh wing wizard Gareth Bale trained with the squad and has traveled with the team to take on Malaga. The former Spurs attacker was unlikely to be fit in time, but has been given the green signal by Zinedine Zidane.
Bale has missed out on both the Champions League semi-final legs due to a calf problem, and was uncertain to be back in time before the season drew to its close, but has recuperated well and will be looking to lift the La Liga trophy with his teammates.
However, he is unlikely to start against Malaga as Zidane stated in his pre-match press conference, that he isn’t looking to change anything. This could well mean that he will field the same eleven that he did in they’re 4-1 win over Celta Vigo.
As per the club’s official website, the Frenchman said: “We’re not going to change anything. The plan is to go out firing on all cylinders, give 100% and play to win it, as ever. That’s in this club’s DNA and we’ll have to see what happens.
“The only thing in our minds is to go out to win the game. We’re in good spirits and in tip top physical condition. Everyone will travel tomorrow, we’re all important and everyone needs to be ready for the remaining games.”
Dani Carvajal has been ever present at right-back for Real this season, but he sustained a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, and is unlikely to be back in time before the end of the season.
In his stead, Brazilian Danilo has done a decent job, and is expected to retain his spot in the starting lineup. The 25-year-old is expected to be in a back four comprising of Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Marcelo.
Attacking midfielder James Rodriguez continues to be linked with a move away from the club, and doubts further grew when he was left out of the squad for the Celta game. However, the Colombian has been brought back for the game on Sunday, but is unlikely to start.
