Manchester United are reportedly plotting a £110 million triple summer raid on Tottenham with Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Eric Dier the subjects of interest.

The Sun are reporting that Manchester United are preparing a mammoth £110 million triple raid on Tottenham. The Red Devils are plotting a summer move to bring as many as three Tottenham players to Old Trafford, with the club interested in the likes of Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Eric Dier.

Manchester United are deeply short-staffed in the defensive area, if not in quantity, in terms of quality of options Jose Mourinho currently possesses at Old Trafford. Eric Bailly is the lone spark in the defence along with Antonio Valencia.

And while Valencia is not a right-back by trade, Eric Bailly has only arrived at the club last summer, thus highlighting the lack of quality options already present at the club.

Luke Shaw is widely seen as the future of the club but Mourinho’s actions have shown that he does not have enough faith in the Englishman to make him the present first-choice at left-back.

Danny Rose and Kyle Walker represent, in all fairness, currently the best full-back pairing plying their trade in the Premier League and the duo being English internationals would go along with the policy of the club being well represented in the English National Team squad.

Eric Dier is a peculiar case. The versatile star can do a commendable job at centre-back and as a holding midfielder as well. However, there have been reports stating that Jose Mourinho is looking to add the English international as a replacement for Carrick rather than partnering him up with Eric Bailly at the back.

Dier has excelled in the midfield despite getting very few minutes in the said position and the player has himself admitted that he sees himself plying his trade in the midfield in the future.

The addition of Danny Rose and Kyle Walker is more imperative than Eric Dier, though. The duo have been a constant presence at the back for Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham have overcome other teams to improve upon their finishes, finishing 3rd last season and guaranteed to finish second this season.

The duo, though, is also high on the shopping list at Manchester City with Pep Guardiola looking to freshen up the options in the said positions. However, Manchester United could appeal more to the duo, keeping in mind the heritage in comparison of the red half.

On the other side, they could take up the challenge at Manchester City as Guardiola seeks to continue City’s recent run of finishing above United along with becoming a successful club at challenging both for domestic and European honours on a consistent basis.

It would be interesting to see whether the trio would entertain a move or not. However, Kyle Walker’s relationship with Pochettino needs amends after the English international has reportedly fallen out, especially after the former Southampton manager favoured Kieran Trippier over him in recent matches.
