West Ham United told the suitors to cough up £30 million and above to land Manuel Lanzini in an attempt to ward off the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.

Daily Mirror are claiming that West Ham United have placed a hefty price tag on Manuel Lanzini in an attempt to ward off his suitors. The player is being tailed by the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal and the Hammers have slapped a £30 million-plus price tag on the player in an attempt to retain the attacker beyond this season.

Manuel Lanzini is an attacking midfielder that arrived in the Premier League in an under-the-radar move from Al Jazira to West Ham United – a move which was made permanent by the Hammers after the Argentine impressed in his debut season in England.

This season, the 24-year-old has continued to impress the on-lookers, with a return of 8 goals and 2 assists in 33 league appearances to show for his efforts. The attacking midfielder has taken up the mantle after the departure of Dimitri Payet and while he has modest numbers to show, his performances have been impressive.

And his displays have brought forth interest from the best of the Premier League clubs. Liverpool’s interest in the player is not new as Jurgen Klopp and his men had launched a cheeky attempt to land Lanzini, before the Hammers made the move permanent.

With Coutinho rumoured to be on the move, the need to add a playmaker is even more imperative, especially with Lanzini also equally adept at playing on the left side.

Tottenham, too, are looking to add in the same position, with Moussa Sissoko unable to establish himself at White Hart Lane. Mauricio Pochettino is looking at Riyad Mahrez but Manuel Lanzini may prove to be a more realistic target, given the widespread interest in the Algerian.

Arsenal too – like Tottenham – have been eyeing a deal for Riyad Mahrez. The Gunners could lose either or both of Alexis Sanchez and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, which would empty a spot in the attack, something which Lanzini can fill ably.

Lanzini – being already in London – could prove to be a viable target for both Arsenal and Tottenham. However, Liverpool could stand to be in an advantage due to the possibility of West Ham United not wanting to let their prized asset move to a local rival.

Liverpool would also present the best opportunity for Lanzini to secure first-team football among the three suitors and the Argentine could be tempted to work under the charismatic yet nurturing presence of Jurgen Klopp.

The suitors are likely to be unfazed by the hefty price tag and we could well be seeing Manuel Lanzini move to another Premier League club in the summer.
