Liverpool are interested in signing Ivan Perisic and Leandro Paredes this summer
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, their sources have information that Jurgen Klopp is willing to spend up to €60 million this summer on the two Italian Serie A players as he looks to continue to improve Liverpool’s side for next season.
Perisic – who joined Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015 in a €16 million deal – has been one of Inter’s best players in a season in which they have been troubled by issues both on as well as off the field.
Managerial changes and trouble with the fans have plagued Inter this season and contributed to their poor performances, which has seen them currently placed 18 points of league leaders Juventus in fifth place.
Perisic has still managed to stand out despite these issues and has picked up 9 goals and 7 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. His form has even led to rumours that his agent would try and engineer a swap deal with Arsenal for Alexis Sanchez, who looks likely to leave the Gunners at the end of the season.
Inter will definitely be unwilling to sell and have previously publicly stated that they do not want to sell the Croatian international, however should they fail to qualify for the Champions League it is likely that Perisic – who is 28 years old – will look to move to a club that can offer him Champions League football.
TuttoMercatoWeb also claim that Liverpool are willing to spend up to €35 million on Perisic although Inter could hold out for a higher transfer fee given that Perisic has a contract that runs until 2020.
Another name on their list is that of Roma’s midfielder Leandro Paredes, according to TuttoMercatoWeb. The 22-year old has been used sparingly this season but has impressed whenever he has played so it is no surprise he is being linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Argentinian has only managed 10 starts for Luciano Spalletti’s side this season and should Jurgen Klopp be able to promise him regular football, he could be tempted to make a move to England in the summer.
He has only managed 10 starts for Roma in the Serie A and has picked up 3 goals in those appearances. At 22, he will steadily improve and this is no doubt a factor that will attract Klopp, however it could also give Liverpool some trouble during negotiations as Roma might want to hold on to Paredes, given his potential.
However, given that he will only have two years left on his contract come the end of the season, Roma might be tempted to sell should a high enough offer arrive at their desk and the report claims Liverpool will make a €25 million offer in the summer.
Klopp already has several options on the wing and in midfield, but it is clear that he has one eye on European commitments given that he is targeting Perisic and Paredes, who will no doubt prove to be valuable additions to Liverpool’s squad, should they sign.
