Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has admitted that his client Lucas Perez has been frustrated by the lack of playing time at Arsenal, but will stay put at the Emirates Stadium to fight for his place.

According to Mattias Karen of ESPN, Arsenal striker Lucas Perez’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has played down rumours linking his client with a move away from the Emirates Stadium at the end of the campaign.

Italian website Calciomercato  reported that the player was considering leaving Arsenal at the end of the season as he was disgruntled due to the lack of playing time at his new club this campaign.

However, Lovelle has now cleared the air on Perez’s future, stating that he is happy and content at the Emirates Stadium. He told ESPN: “Lucas has a contract with Arsenal, he wants to succeed there and, as any professional, wants to play. When one does not play, one is not happy. Lucas now only thinks about this season and playing for Arsenal.”

Perez moved to Arsenal in the summer from La Liga side Deportivo la Coruna in a £17 million deal. Initially, the Gunners had planned to move for Leicester attacker Jamie Vardy, but the Englishman rejected all approaches made by the North London club to pledge his loyalty to the title winners.

With the presence of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud, it was unlikely that Perez was going to get the minutes he was at Deportivo. The 28-year-old has made just nine starts in all competitions for Arsenal, and has been far from disappointing. He bagged an impressive hat-trick against FC Basel in the Champions League as he guided the Gunners to an impressive 4-1 win over the Swiss side.

He even made the most of his start against non-league side Sutton United, finding the back of the net in Arsenal’s comfortable 2-0 win at the Gander Green Lane. However, he will be looking to impress in the top flight, should he be given the chance by manager Arsene Wenger.

Whether or not the player chooses to reconsider his options at the end of the season is a different story altogether, but as of now he appears to remain focused of breaking into the Arsenal first-team and such performances could go a long way in influencing the manager’s decisions.
