Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial’s agent confirms Frenchman is considering Sevilla move

One of Manchester United’s most promising young players in Anthony Martial is mulling a move to La Liga heavy-hitters Sevilla, according to his agent

Martial has recently been strongly linked with a move to Los Nervionenses. His agent Philippe Lamboley has now played up rumors of the French striker leaving for Sevilla on loan, stating that his party was considering the option.

“We are studying the Seville option with a lot of attention,” Lamboley told Spanish media outlet ABC Sevilla.

“Sevilla is a very good club, is classified in LaLiga, plays the Champions League and has a great coach. It’s what I can tell you.

The 21-year-old striker was one of the star signings made by Manchester United in the summer of 2015, joining from AS Monaco in a whopping £36 million that made him the world’s most expensive teenage footballer.

Martial’s debut season was a smashing success, as he started off his Red Devils career with a marvelous goal against arch-rivals Liverpool and ended the season as the club’s top scorer.

However, the Frenchman is finding minutes hard to come by under new manager Jose Mourinho, who has a wealth of options to choose from in the left-wing position that Martial plays in. The young striker is warming the bench more than he’d like, and has grown frustrated by his lack of game-time.

Sevilla have emerged as one of the top interested parties looking to take advantage of the situation. The La Liga outfit are keen on taking Martial on loan, and the club’s current director of football Monchi has been in touch with Lamboley regarding a possible transfer.

Despite the current situation, it is very unlikely that Mourinho and Manchester United would be willing to let Martial leave. The Portuguese manager has even urged the Frenchman to start performing if he wants to break into the starting XI.

Martial has put in good showings against West Ham United, Everton and Tottenham over the past month or so, and the young starlet may prefer to fight for his place in the Red Devils team, rather than leave on loan.

However, Sevilla do present an interesting option for the youngster. They are currently 3rd in the La Liga table and face Leicester City in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. The allure of European football could be tempting for Martial, and a loan deal would be something that United will be willing to at least consider.
